Trinoma Opening

May 16, 2007 marked the opening of The Trinoma.  You can't say it's the Trinoma Mall, because Trinoma stands for Triangle North Mall. Or the Mall in North Triangle Edsa.

Ayala land's 4 level shopping complex had its edsa side gate still closed on opening day.  One would have to turn the corner and enter through the North Avenue gate, forcing oneself upon the already congested road.

Lo and behold, the parking was full, and there were thousands of instant SM-North-borrowed market available.

Surprise surprise.  No wonder. There was a free opening day concert and Side A was on stage, singing their popular hits.  Incidentally, Trinoma is located beside the squatter area near the corner of Quezon Avenue and Edsa, very near the MRT.  Add to that the instant market from SM North and you have a jam packed opening day!

Summer’s best dessert – Halo-Halo

What a hot day!!! It's days like these that makes one crave for the best summer treat… HALO-HALO.  Speaking of halo-halo, its hard to find a good quality halo-halo these days.  The best for me so far, is from Goldilock's and Sandosenang Sarap.  Chowking used to serve great Halo-halo's but now, the ingredients are toooooo few and bland.  I've tried Iceberg's and I always end up with LBM.  Milky Way in Rockwell also served halo-halo with too few ingredients, its like everything is measured to the last piece of monggo or gulaman.  They say that Razon's (with branches in Pasig and Greenhills) serves great halo-halo but I haven't been there yet.  My parents have dined there and they said its not that good either.  On the other hand, my brother-in-law ate two orders of it last week.  In Heat and Paseo Uno buffet, their halo-halo sections are pathetic!!! No saba (banana) at all!!!
