Summer Reading Reviews

Here comes the rain again… summer is officially over and I am quite happy with the amount of reading I was able to do over the summer.  Here's my list of summer reads and some comments:

1. The Life of Pi by Yann Martel – recommended by FM member Neosasuke, its a light and funny novel about a young Indian boy stranded in a lifeboat with a tiger.  Definitely worth reading.

2.  For One More Day by Mitch Albom – was a bit disappointed with this one since the theme was a bit like his previous novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven.

3. The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry – too "The Da Vinci Code" -ish.

Yesternight, some American economic data showed yet more surprising growth, which was bad for the Fed's bias, who is already leaning far away from lowering rates as of the moment.  This brought wall street lower, and much of Asia were down a percent as well.

Aggressive NFB finally retreats to a stalemate with the Sellers.

On the local battlefront, TEL's corresponding New York ADR PHI would have translated to a parity of around 2460 today, but surprisingly, TEL traded near 2550 for 99% of the day.  It was only at exactly 12 noon, closing time, when Wealth Securities crossed 500 shares of TEL at bid price of 2505.  This caused the PSEi to drop even 9 points lower from the 11:59 quote of 20 points down.
