Landmark Department Store-Trinoma Now Open!!!

Landmark Department Store in Trinoma finally opened last week.  It occupies the whole block of Trinoma that faces Edsa.  I went there last Monday and was able to visit the women's clothes, shoes and bags section.  The lay-out is pretty much like the one they have in Makati.  I think there's around three floors with the basement for supermarket and fast food.  There were a lot of shoppers that day so I was not able to go to the other floors.  I bought a pair of shoes.  The sales lady took forever to get my size, but I really wanted to buy it so I waited.  When she finally came, she gave me one foot size 6 and the other size 7!!! Hay naku…  fortunately I checked the stock before purchasing it.  Where do they hire these sales ladies/men anyway?  Most of them spend time yakking or flirting with each other.  Then when you ask for your size they point you to this guy and to that guy…. sigh…

Funny B and Toni Gonzaga

Boss D was watching Pinoy Big Brother last night while Funny B and I were preparing to sleep.  We were able to watch the part where Big Brother revealed to Toni Gonzaga that she would become a housemate.  She was really shocked and was crying while talking to Big Brother.  Funny B asked me why Toni is crying.  I had a hard time thinking of how to explain it to her so I finally said "Toni is stuck inside Big Brother's house."  Then she said… "Ha??? Naging housemate na ni Kuya si Toni Gonzaga?"  I guess she knows her PBB better than I do.

Ghosts haunting the Manila Film Center?

I had an eerie experience at the Manila Film Center.  During the summer of 1988, I was part of my high school's 65th Foundation Day Presentation at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).  I was a dance troupe member and we were scheduled to have our pictorials at the Manila Film Center.  It was early in the afternoon when we started doing our pictorials.  There was nothing extra-ordinary about the place and I did not know then that the place was the site of a tragedy.

Thick Face Black Heart

One of the books I intend to read when I have the time (and when I get my hands on one) is Thick FaceBlack Heart,The Asian Path To Thriving – Winning And Succeeding by Chin-Ning Chu.  Though I have not read the book, the underlying lessons were explained to me long ago and I reinforced this with 'net research of my own.  This served as an important part of my trading decisions.  I mean, look at the book logo, it is even quite similar to Finance Manila's logo of Yin and Yang, Balanced Trading, Zen Trading.

Thick Face does not necessarily mean getting material things from others, and Black Heart does not talk about the need to do evil to others. Read on from synopses gathered from other sites:

PBB Celebrity 2 update: Marylaine Viernes and Jen da Silva evicted

Marylaine Viernes and Jen da Silva, two-in-one housemates in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, were the first to be evicted this season.  Both were members of Deal or No Deal's 26-K Girls.  They garnered the lowest number of votes compared to fellow nominee, Megan Lynne Young.
