How safe are we?
I have long always tried to share a piece of my mind with security guards improperly checking civilians or automobiles entering malls or offices.
Some very big loopholes I've always noticed:
- entering parking, routing guard opens trunk of car, takes a token glance and closes trunk in just 3 seconds! – I've always took my time telling the guard to tell their supervisor to skip this check if it was going to be that trivial, citing that I may store the bomb in my passenger seat or glove compartment, without them being any wiser of it.
- security checks like airport and shangri-la DO sometimes require you to open all your doors with the canine sniffer smelling about – commendable if done always!
- entering malls, elderly ladies or people with babies or strollers get in easy with a routine wave of the hand – hey shopper! bombers notice this, and it would be easy to use this method to smuggle in bombs!
- Entering malls with laptop bag/knapsack: guards sometimes ask "laptop yan sir", or just open the zipper with the laptop section and let you in, without checking all the other compartments! CHECK ALL OTHERWISE NONE AT ALL!
So you see, with the very BIG variable factor of human ingenuity and determination if a terrorist wants to bomb a place-he could find a way scenario, plus the current half-baked state of security checks in the metro, no, WE ARE NOT SAFE AT ALL.
Paging senate blue ribbon committee! In aid of legislation, stop those investigations of dead end walls and pass laws to require stricter inspections in establishments please.

see, just yesterday congress batasan pambansa was bombed. thats how ridiculous our security checks are. like i said, anyone determined to get in can get in without much difficulty. to add, whoever said bombers will limit bomb placement under the cars? so merely checking under cars via mirror ONLY is a stupid waste of time. Check all or none at all!
