Work from home ideas: Online business via Multiply.com

During the past Christmas rush, I've made some online shopping through Multiply.com.  I've browsed through Multiply so much that my sisters-in-law calls me "Multiply Queen". Setting up an online business via Multiply is fast, easy and most of all, tax free! Multiply + your product + creativity + patience + hardwork = kaching! kaching! $$$.  Here are ten ways to insure your business will be a success:

1.  Choose a good name.  I find it more effective if your name has something to do with what you are selling.  Makes it easier to remember than a generic name like shopping, cuteness, kikay, etc.

Health Alert: Diarrhea cases on the rise

My aunt who is a doctor in a major hospital told me that hospital rooms are fully booked due to rise in cases of gastro related diseases like diarrhea, nausea and vomitting.  Sometimes, two or three members of the family are affected and had to be confined.  She thinks it might be in the water that we are drinking.  So to be safe, boil your water even if you source it from a water station.

Also, if you have symptoms of vomitting and diarrhea, be sure to keep yourself hydrated by taking hydride or similar fluids.  Consult with a physician early on especially when it involves your children.

See the Department of Health info on diarrhea:

Will San Miguel make a tender for Petron?

San Miguel Corporation is expanding as a conglomerate.  It divulged that it intends to go into telecoms, power, and energy, among other businesses.  They recently bought out Ashmore's subsidiary, SEA Refinery B.V., which owns a controlling stake in of Petron Corp.

SMC has now come under fire from the PCOR minority shareholders and the Philippine Stock Exchange, citing SMC's vagueness in disclosing the purchase details, plus demanding that minorities should get the same deal as SEARBV.

San Miguel has 2 years from December 24 to exercise that option, which locks the price per share at P6.85.  This acquisition represents 50.1% shares of PCOR.  The tender offer rule, as provided by the Securities Regulation Code (SRC), is mandatory for a company that acquired at least 35 percent of a publicly traded firm.

Citibank warns of card cloning but wont identify establishment

At the start of the year, i got a call from (a legit) citibank representative who informed me that my card was one of many that was used (by me) in an establishment that they've investigated to be participating in credit card cloning.

The caller was legitimate, as I did not give my number and or details and he helped me trace my recent past swiped spendings and confirmed that my card WAS NOT YET used for fraud and that I was the only one that used it of late.

So we blocked my card and had request for new one. The Citi agent caller wont yet identify the alleged establishment, as they said they were still investigating properly.

Chinese New Year Feng Shui

Kong Si Fa Chay!!!

Chinese New Year, which falls on January 26 this year, is a fews days away and its best to start preparing for it.  I was watching a morning show today and a female feng shui expert said that since its the year of the Ox, all people born under this sign will be lucky this year.  In my opinion and personal experience, it is not so.  In my family, people who are born under the incoming year's sign usually have to go to the temples to get a blessing and do some cleansing since they are considered to be susceptible to bad luck.  Those whose "chinese" age is ending in 9 or sums up to 9 is also believed to be unlucky.
