For all the headaches a government official is embracing upon being elected into office, did you ever wonder how much they make in a month? Why spend hundreds of millions for only a yearly salary not exceeding 1 million pesos for the top post of President of the archipelago?
Does that mean they all steal? Or all for the service of the country? Sense of nationalism? "Give something back to the country"? And yet some senators are so pompous and arrogant at shouting at citizens in their blue ribbon inquiries, forgetting that they are there at the service of the Filipino people. Anyway…….. here are their salaries as of 2001.
The table below from siquijor.com shows the salary schedule for government employees effective July 1, 2001. With the exception of the president, each position pays a range of salaries from Step 1 being the entry-level amount to Step 8 as the highest amount a particular position can get. The table only shows Step 1 and Step 8 for comparison purposes. The listings are not in any particular order.
Well, these are their official salaries only. The benefits must be good.

It’s the perks. You get access to a lot of things that can earn you a lot of money. Most of them legal. For the doctors:
There was a salary increase effective last July. Physicians get Php 22,000.00 both in health centers and government hospitals minimum. There are levels that as you go high up, it increases. There is also Philhealth charging and perks. Some do resort to inserting bogus charges as instrument fees and the like. But there are surgeons in government hospitals who earn 100,000+ minimum monthly.
As for the senators and other officials, I noticed a Micheal Defensor as one of those that bought shares of Nihao at 1 peso per share (is he the same guy as the politician?). I also noted some prominent previous government officials on the top100s of other companies. As I understand some of the IPOs are offered first to institutional investors (like the government) which is why it is easy for this officials to get them cheap and get high positions.
As for plunder, I can’t say. Who would admit to that?
The salary for teachers is prostrating.
not only teachers…guess for all levels…salaries are quite low…better to work in a call center you get 12-18k per month average wise or teach english online for 4 hrs…you receive 10-17 k monthly…
I guess this speaks of the salary they receive on paper. I’m absolutely certain that senators such as Manny Villar have learned of more creative ways to make money. Enough to convince Loren to run as his vice president this coming elections.

How about the new IT PROFESSIONALS, PROGRAMMER, WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPER AND NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR working in Hospital/Medical Center?

According to the Joint Resolution No. 24 or SSL3, there will be a 30.2%
increase for stage1 employees while those in higher positions will get 100-142% increase in their salaries! (million claps for our government!)
can you imagine ang isang tao nanalo sa politiko,, ang monthly salary ay thousands palang ..
pag may i invest sa sarili ay millions na ang halaga saan galing ang pera nila sa mga taong naghihirap
kapal ng mga mukha ,,,so pinoy this is a wake up call…
kapag may katwiran ipaglaban!!!
compare for other country the salary of our teacher is very cheap, that why many of our teacher leave their profession and work in abroad to have a good salary to support there family, we can’t blame them. I hope our government have to change for good for all filipino…. I hope it will happen soon.
yeah. they all have a high salary, and we wonder where they got all of their money. i hope they would turn over a new leaf, many of us are suffering because o them.
I think its about time that government employees specially to those rank and file be granted considerable increase in salaries and benefits..
I think its about time that government employees specially to those rank and file be granted considerable increase in salaries and benefits..
anyway, would anyone happen to know the equivalent of a Salary Grade 18 (just the basic)?
Why do you think candidates run for office in the Philippines? Power begets money. And money begets respectability and prestige. A presidential candidate will spend millions running for office and gets a fraction in return for salary? He’ll start scheming how to get his money back the minute he’s elected, and more. Do the math – nobody runs for office on the “goodness of their heart”. Politicians run for office to enrich themselves, by hook or by crook. It’s a flawed system – and nobody’s doing anything about it. It’s a self-perpetuating cycle of thievery!!
A bunch of thieves outmaneuvering themselves so they can steal more money! It’s a license to steal!!
What the f*ck is this? They kill each other and even betrayed each other for this kind of salary in the government. We need to raise the salar of teachers, policemen, firemen, and ordinary government officials higher than senator and high ranking government officials and let the salary of those fuc*ing politicians should be regulated because they f*ck up our government and country. If you go out of the country they look at as like f*c*ing bitches and insects. Let us build our country for the sake of our children.
Government workers in Philippines do not deserve most of their salary. The ‘perks’ are corrupt and the work culture is ineptness and gross incompetence. Same for corrupt ‘elected’ fcuk..ing politicians. The voters must be helt to blame for constantly voting the same old crap politicians, like singers, tv personalities, actors, boxers etc etc
Interesting Information you got here.
I just returned home to the usa from visiting the Philippines. I was shocked and felt sad for the people. They work so hard and only make enough for necessities. There houses are so tiny, and many of them are falling apart. Many of the people sleep on the sidewalks outside their place of employment. They breathe in pollution all day. They work in the heat all day and have no place to go cool off after work. Yet…they always smile. I notice one thing in common with all the people…they all seem to hate their government. How could a person who was elected to look after his people…sit back and look at these people everyday…and not feel ashamed of their self. Those elected officials who are so corrupt and so full of greed will burn in hell one day. It really pisses me off that a person can even consider their self a human being while watching others suffer like that. They are not human beings…they are bottom of the barrel, skum sucking, pieces of shit!!!
i think the list above seemed outdated. I previously work in a hospital months ago and a Nurse 1 item equivalent to salary grade 11 (i think) has a basic pay of around 15k depending on the step increment, that’s excluding allowances, Nurse II around 22k. check me if im wrong though.
oh let me correct that. as of June 2011. a salary grade 11 at step 1 has a salary of 17,099 . salary grade 15 is 22,688. here’s a link: http://www.scribd.com/doc/57737310/salary-Grade-3rd-philippines
To webmaster, kindly update the salary grades. I think this was 4 or 5 yrs ago so readers might be able to find out how salary has been upgraded. Thanks.
ang salary ng seaman umaabot ng 70,000 a month ang kapitan 500,000 a month.pero hirap pa rin pagbili ng mga ari arian, samantala ang mga pulitiko ang baba ng sahod pero marami nag aagawan ng pwesto after 1 year may mga condo na at magagarang sasakyan
The Pinoy have learn more from history, there is a solution:

OMG! im working in the UAE and planning to go back home and work in goverment sector.
But whew! salary is too low… im earning more than the president.. LOL…
i was thinking to use my skills and knowledge to help my country but if they only pay like this low nevermind.
super low salary ng librarian grabeh!
In our place in San Emilio Ilocos Sur the mayor ‘s salary is around .5 million pesos plus the v.mayor and councilors down to the least LGU employee their salary goes more than 20 million pesos for a fourth class municipality , is’nt it too much?
kaya nga mababa ang mga salary ng gov’t employees dhil nasa gov’t sila at ang main purpose is to help the country and its fellowmen not to use the people’s money for their own benefit… if you’d like to have higher salaries then why not apply to private companies mas malaki ang income nils at kayang tubusan ang mga sahod nyo na karapat dapat sa kakayahan ninyo.
I think the earnings of government officials listed above are way higher than what the constitutions says. Kindly double-check. Thank you
Computation of daily/ monthly take home pay must commence with the lowest category, those belonging to lower echelon of the government and private work forces. A minimum of five (5) family members must be the basis in computing their minimum basic needs as to refrain them from committing graft and corrupt practices and heavy indebtedness e.g. food (providing for their nutritional requirements), shelter, (house rent where they are situated), clothing, education of children, medical (attendance and medicines, in short a decent and livelihood with quality, not falling within the under employed and poverty line existence to afford them savings for their retirement days and investment to support them despite reaching retirement period where they shall be ineligible to find further employment due to over ageing in most employment schemes.
Sobrang outdated ang listahan!
first and foremost, the main consideration here for being in govt. is SERVICE,most especially politician. But time change, bcoz of GREED;LOVE OF MONEY;MATERIALISM,that being of service to the people was set aside for personal interest !
I think its time to study how to increase all salary of individuals..
