Globe Tattoo sucks

I'm sorry globe, there's no other way to put this kindly, but your globe tattoo service sucks.  I used this a couple of times in my hours of need, which are of course places outside the office and outside the comforts of my own home and nada.

All I got was network error.  So I hopped back to my smart 3g phone to browse for globe tattoo network error on google and got a lot of hits on the zero bandwidth downstream cursing their service.

What can you expect? This is a rebrand of the failure Globe Visibility, and apparently, all it was was a rebrand with no redo of technical upgrade.

If you intend to use this because you're on the go or would be in a place where you might not have wired or wifi access via router, then you'll be sorely disapointed at its being intermittent.  Heck, intermittent is probably the best case scenario, as I absolutely never got to browse a single page and all it said was loading. . . . .

This is not worth 1895, nor is it worth 995, not even 50 pesos if you will still pay to use something you can't use!

Globe Telecom sells a variety of internet packages. Several of these packages are advertised as being ‘Unlimited’. The adverts lead customers to believe that they will recieve unlimited internet access (data transfer) for set periods of time, in return for their payment.

However, Globe has a (very hidden) policy which actually sets strict limits on the data usage allowed to customers. This policy is the ‘Fair Use Policy’. It unilaterally sets an ‘average’ data consumption limit for customers. If customers exceed this limit, then they are deemed to be “abusing” their contract and their package is suspended.

One example is the Globe Tattoo Broadband, on pre-pay. This is advertised as being “unlimited” broadband access. The customer pays based on the amount of time that they remain connected and using the broadband internet.

However, the Fair Use Policy actually limits pre-pay Tattoo customers to a maximum of 1 Gb (gigabyte) of date use per day. This is not made clear to customers at any time when they purchase their Tattoo usb stick or buy load/credit to use that service.

When a customer exceeds that 1GB limit, then their SIM card is blocked from internet access for 24 hours. Again, they are not warned that this can or will happen in advance.

To put this data limit (1GB) into perspective…. the advertised maximum speed of Globe Tattoo Broadband is 3Mb per second. This means that, at full speed, the user will exhaust their data usage (1Gb = 1024 Mb) within 6 minutes!!!

How can it be legal the Globe advertises and charges for “UNLIMITED” internet, when in fact, the maximum daily useage at advertised speed is a pathetic 6 minutes per 24 hours?????

Grabe ang false advertisement nila, when they advertise as if perfect ang system nila, and they dont advertise what we really need to know. They are fooling the customers. Why do the government tolerate these acts even if the deception is so apparent?

Better to hack the connection. It’s my option now on my globe tattoo. Bilis na magdownload sa torrent, wala pang limit sa download. Yan lang maigaganti ko sa ngayon sa Globe sa serbisyong bulok maging postpaid o prepaid.

OH YES GLOBE REALLY SUCKS, NOW ITS ONLY 800MB DOWNLOAD LIMIT,THAT IS REALLY FRUSTRATING,WHEN THEY PROMOTE IT AS 24 HRS. UNLIMITED INTERNET CONNECTION,THEY ARE MISLEADING THE PUBLIC, THRU THEIR PROMOTIONS & TV COMMERCIALS, TRUTH IN ADVERTISING,WHERE CAN WE REPORT THIS UNFAIR,UNTRUE PROMOTION THEY ARE DOING? CALLING ABS-CBN 2, GMA-7 & TV-5- YOU SHOULD NOT LET THIS PASS AND TOLERATE THIS ABUSE,CALLING N.T.C. & OTHER AGENCIES CONCERN

  5. Blair Clementine says:

@thomas dixson: As far as I know, they are only doing it until they have users who are very excessive in usage in their network. Limiting excessive usage by a few people gives lots more bandwidth to hundreds or maybe thousands of others who are also paying the same amount for the service. I read this on Globe’s website. So I think its not wrong, they want ALL their subscribers to get what they paid for. 1GB or 800mb usage naman is worth a lot more than P50, so i wouldnt say they cheated on you. Rather, i think the way all the telcos are moving towards this Fair Use Policy is really for the benefit of the vast majoriy whose services are slowed down by the few who use excessively.

(Having a minimum data usage a day is not an unlimited service… guys its just pure common sense!!!!) besides, for real users.. 1gb a day is a minimum data usage not maximum.. globe really sucks!!!!!! u cant even download a movie with 800mb… heheheh…

  7. mike says:

the point is: DONT say your service is UNLIMITED if it actually IS limited. Pangloloko yang marketing nila. I am okay with a fair use policy but misrepresenting your product just to sell it is WRONG. Gusto nila i-brand na “unlimited” ung product nila kasi that word really excites people.

Bulok talaga Globe! Dati, broadband gamit namin, tapos ngayon nag-Tattoo Wifi kame. Isang linggo na naming di magamit ‘yung wifi namin, tapos etong DSL sobrang bagal pa. Di ako makapag-Facebook ngayon, tapos aabutin ka ng ilang minuto para lang ma-load mo ‘yung isang page. Ilang beses na ‘kong tumawag sa 171 and they gave me instructions on what I’m gonna do, do this, do that bla bla bla, baka mabagal lang daw kase me inaayos ‘yung mga technician. Eh, what the fuck?
