Two more products have been tested positive for melamine according to the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD). These are Lotte B&W Koala Biscuits and Lotte Chocolate Snack Koala Biscuits.

This latest results bring the total products tested for positive to 6.  The other melamine-positive products were : JollyCow Slender High Calcium Low Fat Milk (1 liter);Greenfood Yili Fresh Milk (in Chinese character);  Mengniu Drink (in Chinese character); Lotte Strawberry Snack Koala Biscuit.

One more milk-based food product has been tested positive for melamine contamination by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD).  BFAD announced that Lotte Strawberry Snack Koala Biscuit is postive for melamine contamination.  BFAD also cleared 34 other products that have been found negative for melamine contamination. These were:

DOH bans Jolly cow milk product, clears 21 others.

The Department of Health has banned another China-made milk which was found to be contaminated with melamine.  Secretary Francisco T. Duque III announced that JollyCow Slender High Calcium Low Fat Milk is ordered banned from the country until it is reformulated.  Meanwhile, the department cleared 21 other milk products for display on store shelves.

BFAD released a partial list of milk products that are undergoing tests for melamine contamination.  The public is advised not to buy these products or not to consume them.
BFAD Chief Leticia Gutierez said the ban will remain in effect until BFAD releases results of the tests in October.  When I heard this, I asked my aunt (doctor) why we have to wait for October? In countries like Singapore and Malaysia, products that tested positive are announced almost everyday. According to my aunt, the government is still in the process of purchasing Melamine testing kits/equipment, that is why no product have been tested positive.
